An AI draft of a report or a comparison table is often worth keeping, or handing to someone. But copy the answer into a document and the table falls apart, the code loses its formatting and the formulas turn into strings of symbols.
The quickest way, and fine for a short answer. Anything with tables, code or math tends to break where you paste it, and keeping a long conversation means scrolling and copying again and again.
Your browser's print dialog can save a page as PDF. But the page's buttons and sidebars come along, long chats can be cut off, and some sites only print the part of the conversation that is currently on screen.
With Qarta, a Chrome extension, you export from the button at the bottom right of the chat. Pick Markdown, text, PDF, Word or HTML and a ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Copilot, Perplexity or Grok conversation becomes a file.
Headings, lists, tables, code (with its language) and formulas come out as they were. Where a site only shows part of a long chat, Qarta reads back to the very first message, so nothing is cut off. PDF is made from a clean print page Qarta prepares — choose “Save as PDF” there.
A whole chat as Markdown, text or a copy is free. PDF, Word and HTML, and picking only the answers, only your questions or just the messages you tick, are Pro features.
PDF to hand it to someone, Word to edit it first, Markdown to drop it into a notes app or another AI. Markdown keeps headings and tables intact and pastes cleanly into most notes apps.
Qarta is a Chrome extension that exports your AI chats right from the chat page. Markdown and text are free; PDF, Word and HTML come with Pro. No sign-up.
