This policy explains how REPECH (“we”) handles information in the Qarta Chrome extension and on the Qarta website (repech.com/qarta), including its contact form. In short: your prompts and chats are never sent to our servers. We only receive personal information when you buy Qarta Pro or write to us.
1. In the extension
- Your prompts are stored in your browser's Chrome Sync storage (
chrome.storage.sync), tied to your Google account like Chrome bookmarks — which means Chrome syncs them through Google's servers, under Google's privacy policy, exactly as it does your bookmarks. They are never sent to us, and we never have access to them. If that sync storage fills up, further prompts are kept only on the computer you saved them on. - Your chat library. Auto-save is on from the start — the first-run page tells you so before anything is kept, and one switch there turns it off. While it is on, on the AI chat sites Qarta supports, Qarta reads the conversation you currently have open and saves a copy (title, messages, page address, time saved) so you can search it later. It is kept only in your own browser, on your own computer (IndexedDB) — not synced and never uploaded. Only chats you actually open are saved; chats without their own address (such as ChatGPT's temporary chats) are not. You can turn saving on or off at any time in the chat library, delete any chat, or remove everything by uninstalling Qarta. Official data exports you import are read inside your browser and stored the same way.
- Small settings (such as which AI sites a prompt opens in, and a usage count) are kept in your browser's local storage. The same place holds what you last typed into a template's {{blanks}}, so the form can offer it again next time — a client's name, for instance. It stays on your own computer, is never synced, and never reaches us. Removing Qarta removes it.
- Where it runs: only on chatgpt.com, chat.openai.com, claude.ai, gemini.google.com and www.perplexity.ai — and on grok.com, copilot.com and copilot.microsoft.com (Copilot, personal accounts) only if you allow each one. There it inserts the prompts you choose and saves the on-screen conversation as described above.
- Network: the only request Qarta itself makes is to ExtensionPay, to check whether you have Qarta Pro. It sends an anonymous key that ExtensionPay assigned to this installation — never your prompts or chats. No analytics, tracking, advertising or remotely hosted code.
Qarta's use of information received from Chrome APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
2. When you buy Qarta Pro
Payments are handled by ExtensionPay and its card processor, Stripe. We never receive or store your card details. Through ExtensionPay we receive your email address, your plan and your payment status and dates, which we use to provide Qarta Pro, restore it on another install, answer billing questions and keep the records the law requires.
If Qarta Pro doesn't carry over after a reinstall or on a new browser, choose “Already have Pro? Log in to restore it” in Qarta's side panel and confirm with the email you paid with.
3. When you contact us, and the website
The contact form sends us your email address, subject and message. It is delivered by our email-sending provider (Resend) to our mailbox (Google). We use it only to reply to you and handle your request — never for marketing — and delete it 1 year after we finish handling your request (sooner if you ask).
The website is hosted by Cloudflare, which may process technical data such as your IP address and browser for security and delivery. To see how many people visit and where they come from, the site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts page views, referring sites, countries and browser or device types as aggregate statistics. It uses no cookies and does not track individual visitors. The site has no ads; your language choice is saved only in your own browser.
When you uninstall Qarta, Chrome opens a short, optional survey page on this site (it is Chrome, not the extension, that opens it). The page address carries only the extension version and your display language. If you choose to submit it, we receive the reason you pick and any comment you write — no email address, no account, and nothing from your prompts or chats — delivered by our email-sending provider (Resend) to our mailbox (Google). We use it only to improve Qarta. Please don't put personal information in the comment.
4. Service providers and international transfers
We don't sell or rent personal information and don't share it except with the providers that run these services for us: ExtensionPay and Stripe (payments), Resend (sending contact-form and survey email), Google (our mailbox) and Cloudflare (website hosting and analytics). They are based in the United States, so your information may be processed there; they handle it under their own privacy policies and security programs. We may also disclose information when required by law.
5. Keeping it safe, and how long
We use HTTPS, keep the accounts that hold your information to the operator only with strong authentication, and keep information only as long as needed:
- Contact-form messages (email address, subject, message): deleted 1 year after we finish handling the request, or sooner on request.
- Qarta Pro purchase records (email address, plan, payment status and dates): kept while you use Qarta Pro and, after that, for the 7 years Japanese tax law requires for business records, then deleted.
Data inside the extension is never on our side; it stays until you delete it or uninstall Qarta.
6. Your rights and how to make a request
Under Japan's Act on the Protection of Personal Information you may ask us to tell you how we use, disclose, correct, add to, delete, stop using or stop sharing the personal information we hold about you. Send your request by email to info@repech.com, stating what you are asking for.
- Identity check: we may ask you to write from the email address you used to buy Qarta Pro, or to verify yourself in another way we specify. We won't act on requests we can't verify. Requests made through a representative need proof of authority.
- Fee: requests for notice of purpose or for disclosure cost ¥1,000 (tax included) each, paid in the way we specify before we respond.
- When we may decline (in whole or part, as the law allows): we can't verify identity or authority; responding could harm you or others; it would seriously interfere with our operations (including repeated identical requests); it would breach another law; or we don't hold the data — information inside the extension is never sent to us, so we don't hold it. We'll tell you if we decline.
- Disclosures are made by email.
If you are in the EU or UK, you also have the rights given by the GDPR and similar laws that apply to you. We rely on the contract to provide Qarta Pro and on our legitimate interest to answer messages.
7. Children, changes and contact
Qarta is not directed to children under 13. Minors need a parent or guardian's consent to buy Qarta Pro. If we change this policy, we'll update the date on this page and describe important changes here. Operator: REPECH. Contact: info@repech.com.
